The 2011 Chevrolet Camaro Convertible is finally made official. General Motors just unleashed full details of the topless Camaro, which will make its debut at this week LA Auto Show and go on sale in February of 2011.
Chris Perry, vice president of Chevrolet marketing said :
“The launch of the new convertible opens Camaro design and performance to a new set of potential customers. The 21st century revival of Camaro is tremendously popular, so it’s a natural to now expand and elevate the product range in new directions.”
Just like the coupe model, the Camaro convertible will be also offered in the same trims. The standard model will be running a 312-horsepower direct injection V-6 engine which offers a fuel economy rating of 29 mpg highway. And while the Ss model will be powered by 6.2L V-8 engine which produces 426 HP. All power of the Camaro convertible will be delivered through a six-speed manual transmission, and optionally buyers can also opt six-speed automatic transmission. GM claims that the top retracts in around 20 seconds, which is pretty similar mechanism in the Corvette convertible top.
And as for the pricing, the 2011 Camaro Convertible with V6 trim will be priced at around $30,000 for the standard model, that was not including $850 destination charges.
