Dodge just officially announced the 2011 Challenger SRT8 392 at The 2010 SEMA.
The 2011 Challenger SRT8 392 comes with a new 6.4-liter HEMI V8 engine producing 470 hp (350 kW / 477 PS) plus 470 lb-ft (637 Nm) of torque. It is coupled with a five-speed automatic (there is also an optional six-speed manual transmission), which allows the car to sprint from 0-60 mph in just 4 second with a top speed in around 180 mph (290 km/h). Moreover, although the engine produces extra 45 hp (34 kW / 46 PS) and 90 lb-ft (122 Nm), the engine is expected to be 20% more efficient compared to the outgoing 6.1-liter V8 thanks to a variable intake manifold, multi-cylinder deactivation, as well as VVT technology.
In terms of design, the 2011 Challenger SRT8 392 comes with a restyled front splitter, a revised front fascia, a body-color spoiler, as well as a new exhaust system. While for the interior, Dodge adds a new steering wheel plus a refined instrument cluster.
The 2011 Challenger SRT8 392 is priced from $45,080 and shipping is planned for December.
