Alpina has completed the development of Alpina D5 Bi-Turbo which based on the BMW 5-Series and presented it at the Frankfurt Motor Show. Well if you are going to stop by in the show, please don't forget to check this one out.
The new Alpina D5 Biturbo is powered by a 3.0-litre in-line 6-cylinder diesel engine that has been uprated to deliver 345 hp (350 PS / 257 kW). The engine is coupled to a revised 8-speed Sport-Automatic ZF 8HP70 SWITCH-TRONIC transmission. With these engine specifications, the model is capable of completing 0-62 mph acceleration in only 5.2 seconds, with a maximum speed of 168 mph (270 km/h). It returns 6.2 liters/100 km on the combined cycle and 165 g/km of CO2 emissions.
In order to make the D5 Biturbo stands apart from the standard BMW 5-Series, Alpina also offers a new aerodynamics package for both sedan and the Touring model that comprises of a rear spoiler, a front apron, as well as a rear diffuser. Completing the new body kit is a new set of 20 inch wheels with Pilot Super Sport tires from Michelin, and electronically-adjustable dampers. Other highlights of the new D5 Biturbo are including Xenon headlamps, Park Distance Control, a leather interior, adjustable sport seats, an LCD and various wood and leather styling accents.
There is no details about pricing has been announced at this point, expect to get it at a later date.
