For the upcoming Geneva Motor Show, Ferrari has prepared a facelifted version of the California hardtop roadster. The 2013 California comes with a series of updates which mainly target the tech side of the roadster.
Ferrari California facelift now brings the direct-injected 4.3-liter V8 engine producing 490 hp and a peak torque of 505 Nm, this engine comes with new exhaust manifolds and an ECU remap. The modified performance allows the car to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in just 3.8 seconds, or 0.2 seconds faster than the outgoing 460HP model.
Furthermore, Ferrari's engineers also reduced about 30 kilos (66 pounds) on the California's chassis with "cutting-edge aluminum fabrication techniques". These techniques affect nothing to the roadster's structural rigidity and performance.
Ferrari will also offer a new optional "Handling Speciale package" which consists of improved Magnetorheological dampers controlled that come with a 50 percent better response time, stiffer springs, and also a modified steering wheel system with a 10 percent quicker steering ratio.
