After getting a number of leaks and speculations, the 2012 Mercedes-Benz C-Class Coupe is finally announced, and will make its first world premier at the 2011 Geneva Auto Salon which will be held in March. The 2011 Mercedes-Benz C-Class Coupe is meant to replace the outgoing CLK model and to challenge the BMW 1 and 3 Series.
Under the hood, we can choose between two engine options, the Mercedes-Benz C250 Coupe is equipped with the 1.8-liter direct-injected turbocharged four-cylinder engine, while the Mercedes-Benz C350 is powered by the 3.5-liter V6 engine. The 1.8-liter direct-injected turbocharged four-cylinder engine is producing 201 HP and 229 lb-feet of torque, while the 3.5-liter V6 engine is generating 304 HP plus 273 lb-ft of torque. Both engine is matched with the same 7-speed automatic transmission.
The C250 model can sprint from 0 to 60 mph in about 7.1 seconds with a top speed of 130 mph. While the C350 model can accelerate from 0-60 mph in just 5.9 seconds and with a top speed of up to 130 mph as well. Fuel efficiency for the C250 Coupe is 30 mpg and a combined fuel economy of 24 mpg. While the counterpart the C350 is 22 mpg combined of both city and highway.
The 2012 Mercedes-Benz C-Class Coupe is very akin to the sedan model, the only difference is two doors and a lower roof line. All is pretty much the same as the sedan model which was launched a couple months ago.
Mercedes-Benz has not revealed pricing details for the 2012 C-Class Coupe yet.
