BMW is going to participate in the 2011 North American International Auto Show at the Cobo Hall in Detroit with its three new models. They are the new 6-Series Convertible, the edgy 1-Series M Coupe as well as the standard 1-Series which consists of the Coupe & Convertible.
We have had the opportunity to see these new models in paper, so there will be nothing surprises as these new models go live. In even more detail, the first version of the upcoming generation 6-Series sports car would be the Convertible, which will be launched as the 650i. It comes equipped with a 400HP 4.4-liter turbocharged V8 engine which is connected to either a six-speed manual or an 8-speed automatic transmission. The new BMW 650i Convertible is set to up on sale in the spring of 2011 in the stateside, while the Coupe model will follow later.
Another entry in the lineup is the enhanced 1 Series M Coupe which features a twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six engine producing 335 HP. Power is shifted via a 6-speed manual transmission. The new 1 Series M Coupe is set be become available in limited quantities by next spring.
Lastly, the 2011 1 Series Coupe and Convertible receive a revision with a number of refined styling changes plus interior enhancements, and keeping the identical equipment. These cars will become available on sale in spring of 2011.
