Saab has just confirmed that it will be recalling about 4,400 units of 9-3 models due to defective fuel pumps. Accoring to NHTSA (National Highway Transportation Safety Administration) the 9-3 models made have been manufactured with pumps that did not meet the standard specifications, and as a result, the pumps might seize, leading the engine to stall. NHTSA believes that the defect can potentially increase the risk of an accident. And luckily so far there is no incidents have been reported due to that problem.
Saab is going to replace the fuel pumps at no charge at all, and the campaign is planned to begin on or around February 18. Well, if you are the owner of Saab 9-3 model, you may need to contact Saab directly at 1.800.955.9007 or head to the NHTSA site for more information.
