Details and real photos of Audi A2 electric vehicle concept have been released by the automaker ahead of its official debut at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show. The A2 Concept is a four-door four-seat vehicle measures 3.8 metres in length, 1.69 metres in width and 1.49 in height.
Power for the Audi A2 comes from an electric motor which is powered by a 31 kWh lithium-ion battery placed in the car's floor, this allows the engine to develop 85 kW (116 hp) and and 270 Nm (199.14 lb-ft) of maximum torque. The car is claimed to be able to complete 0-100 km/h acceleration in 9.3 seconds with a top speed of 150 km/h (93.21 mph). The maximum range for this A2 minicar concept is approximately 124 miles (200 km), and the battery can be fully reloaded in 1.5 hours using a 400 volt three-phase outlet, or up to 4 hours using a more conventional, 230V outlet.
The Audi A2 features carbon fiber-reinforced polymer (CFRP) structure, an opaque glass roof, matrix beam LED lights, a McPherson strut front suspension, steer-by-wire and brake-by-wire technology, a set of lightweight 18-inch wheels. While for the interior, it has 1-spoke steering wheel, retractable console, and many more.
