Audi has recently confirmed that its Audi R8 Spyder will become available in the stateside by early 2011. Because of tight emission regulations in that country, the automaker will only offer the 4.2-liter V8 version, the 525-hp R8 Spyder 5.2 V10 will not offered on the country.
The 4.2-liter V8 R8 Spyder is able to churn out around 430 horsepower and can sprint from 0-62 mph in just 4.9 seconds with a top speed of 186 mph. Just for comparison, the Audi Spyder R8 5.2-liter V10 churns out 525 HP and is able to sprint from 0-62 mph in just 4.1 seconds with top speed of 195 mph.
The Audi R8 Spyder V8 engine is matched with a six-speed manual gearbox or optional R tronic semi-automatic. The R8 Spyder 4.2 FSI rides on a set of 18-inch wheels with a standard suspension.
Pricing wise, the R8 Spyder 4.2 FSI quattro will be priced around €121,000 (around USD 150,500) that will become available in German dealerships in Q3 of 2010. And if you are interested in the V10 model, you will need to fork out €156,400 for the base model.
