Here is the BAC MONO - a single-seater race car that is meant to bring formula car capabilities down to public.The BAC MONO, short for monoposto (single-seat), comes equipped with a 280 bhp ( 209 kW / 285 PS) 2.3 liter naturally-aspirated Cosworth engine, longitudinally mounted, paired to a six-speed sequential Hewland transmission with a limited-slip differential.
Interestingly the car offers a bhp to weight ratio of 520 bhp / ton - more superior than the Bugatti Veyron. Thanks to the carbon-fiber body as well as the minimalistic engineering approach. Sprint from 0 to 60 mph can be done within 2.8 seconds with a top speed of 170 mph (273 km/h).
Other features of the BAC MONO includes a six-point harness by Williams, removable steering wheel, AP Racing's Brakes, and HRT alloy wheels from OZ Racing with Kumho tires.
BAC said it will develop 50 to 100 units per year, with a starting price point of £79,950 or around $130,000 US.
