GM Korea has today made official the mid-electric hybrid Chevrolet Miray (means 'future' in Korean) concept at this year Seoul Motor Show. The Miray concept was made to commemorate Chevrolet's centennial anniversary which takes place this present year.
The Miray concept is powered by a couple of front-mounted electric motors, which churns out 15 kW (20 bhp / 20 PS) respectively for the front axle. While for the rear axle is a 1.5 liter four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine. Power for the electric motors supplied by a 1.6 kWh lithium-ion battery pack that can be recharged using regenerative braking. Unfortunately, Chevy did not give any details about its performance or range figures for the Miray concept.
While for the aesthetics, Miray's design makes use of several cues from Chevy's heritage which was inspired by the 1963 Monza SS as well as the 1962 Corvair Super Spyder. Chevrolet's Miray concept rides on 20-inch wheels at the front and 21-inch wheels at the rear.
The 'future' design is also found in the cabin with its center console-mounted start button, background lighting as well as dual-cockpit design for both the driver and passenger seats.
