If you were following the Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale classic auto auction last night you may noticed the 2011 Indianapolis 500 pace car which turns out 2011 special-edition Chevrolet Camaro Convertible. Chevrolet and Indianapolis Motor Speedway have announced that Chevrolet Camaro Convertible will be the official pace car of the 2011 Indianapolis 500. The modern model of the iconic Camaro pace car in 1969 features Summit White color with orange stripes plus an orange leather interior. This will be the 7th time a Camaro has marched the legendary race, which is also celebrating its 100th anniversary.
So why unleash the car at Barrett-Jackson? You guessed it. Chevrolet is going to auction off the first of fifty Indianapolis 500 Festival Committee cars on Saturday evening. The entire proceeds from this auction will be donated to the David Foster Foundation, a charity that helps families with children that require life-saving organ transplants.
