Just a couple days before its world premiere in Geneva Auto Show, the revitalized De Tomaso automaker unveiled first official details and photos about their premium large crossover concept, called SLS (Sport Luxury Sedan).
De Tomaso is going to a launch three-model range including a sports coupe, a sedan as well as a crossover, and the SLS was chosen to be the first to debut. The SLS will be available in two power plants, include the 550-hp V8 as well as a 300-hp V6 engine. The automaker is expected to release 3000 cars per year begin in 2011.
The rest models, which will be launched at a later time, include a total production of 3,000 and 2,000 exemplars annually, respectively.
All these models will be made using an aluminum vehicle construction technology dubbed Univis. Univis needs just around 30 dies to make a vehicle.
The cars will be manufactured at De Tomaso Automobili S.p.A. factory, a former Pininfarina factory near Turin as well as in the Livorno factory by the ex-Delphi workers.
