Just a couple weeks ago, we got news about the rebadged 2011 Dodge Journey as the Fiat Freemont to be sold in Europe, and now Fiat is officially launching the Freemont in full details.
Despite the Fiat Freemont is also built in the same Chrysler’s factory in Toluca, Mexico, somehow shows a little of the European influence. We can see bits of updates here and there to set the Fiat Freemont apart from the original Dodge Journey. These updates are the front spoilers with split air vents as well as Fiat badges throughout the car.
Under the hood, it is equipped with Fiat’s 2.0-liter turbocharged engine cranking out either a 140 horsepower or 170 horsepower, and it is coupled to a manual gearbox. Fiat is also planning to launch both two- and four-wheel drive models powered by the 2.0-liter MultiJet diesel generating 170 HP and Chrysler’s 276-hp 3.6-liter V6 gasoline powerplant too.
The Fiat Freemont will become available on sale across Europe in the Q2 of 2011.
