The Australian market variant of Hyundai Sonata mid-size sedan or best known as Hyundai i45 is now available in a smaller engine option too, this new engine would become the entry-level point for the range.
The aforementioned engine is a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine developing 162 hp (121 kW) and 198 Nm of peak torque. Buyers can choose between a6-speed manual gearbox or a more comfortable 6-speed automatic transmission for accompanying this engine. This 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine is claimed to return 7.6lt/100km (30.9 mpg) of combined fuel consumption using an automatic gearbox. While the more powerful 2.4-liter engine remains the same, producing 198 hp (148 kW) and a peak torque of 250 Nm, but it doesn't have the manual gearbox (it's been removed by the automaker), so the only choice is automatic.
Pricing wise, The 2011 Hyundai i45 2.0-liter engine is priced at AU $26,990 for the MT version, while AT version is priced at AU$28,590.
