Ford has just introduced The Vertrek, a crossover concept at the Detroit Auto Show. The Vertrek is by far the best looking and the most beautiful crossover concept that ever released by Ford. The new sleeker, sportier as well as more stylish compact CUV model of what Ford has for its next crossovers, which would be replacing both the Escape as well as Kuga models.

Derrick Kuzak, Ford group vice president of Global Product Development said :

“Vertrek concept is a no-compromise solution we feel utility vehicle customers will embrace around the world, It is a revolution compared to what is typically seen in this segment in North America and is a stylish evolution compared with products outside North America. This new design is sleeker and more fuel efficient and delivers the capability, including people and cargo volume, customers demand globally.”

From what we have seen so far, the Vertrek concept is a charming compact design, which will certainly get lots of attention from the younger buyers.The Vertrek will be equipped with a new 1.6-liter EcoBoost inline four-cylinder engine along with Auto Start-Stop technology to give even further fuel efficiency. Aside from that, Ford will be adding a regenerative braking system into the car's turbocharged engine to further imrpove fuel economy even greater. Rhe new EcoBoost engines are claimed to offer fuel economy gains up to 20 % plus reduction of CO2 emissions of up to 15 %, than larger, less-efficient engines.

The Vertrek will be uses the same design concept as the Fiesta hatchback as well as Focus sedan, which is designed on Ford’s Kinetic design language. We can look the resembling on the wide air inlet in the front fascia to the curved roof-line that enhances all the way to the rear, which is pretty similar to the Fiesta hatchback.

Despite the Ford Vertrek is now in its concept form, but it's very much a near finishing product. The Vertrek is expected to be produced in 2013. Lets hope The Vertrek will stay like that to production.
