General Motors has today released a peek of the upcoming Chevrolet Colorado mid-size pickup truck, which is going to be official at the 32nd Bangkok International Motor Show which will be held from March 25th to April 5th 2011. The reason GM made a decision to launch the Chevrolet Colorado in that country was because of the fact that folks in Thailand are purchasing pickups at a growing rate, which is accounted for up to 43 percent of units sold in Thailand in 2010.
GM stated in press release :
“Thailand was chosen as the site of the global debut because of the popularity of pickup trucks and the growing importance of the Thai market to Chevrolet. In 2010, the pickup truck segment alone accounted for 43% of vehicles sold in Thailand. The new Colorado will go on sale in Thailand later this year.”
The upcoming Colorado will be developed at a GM factory in Thailand for global markets, but it is planned to land to north America under the Colorado/Canyon name. More details on the Chevrolet Colorado mid-size pickup truck will be announced at the global premiere in Thailand.
