Recent report is saying that Chrysler has confirmed its plans to release a diesel-powered Jeep Grand Cherokee in the stateside by 2013. Details are very rare at this point, but the diesel-powered Jeep Grand Cherokee will be powered by the 3.0-liter V6 turbodiesel unit producing 237 hp (177 kW / 241 PS) plus 406 lb-ft (550 Nm) of torque. It's expected to feature the same combined fuel economy figure like in Europe which is rated at 8.3 L/100km (28.3 mpg US).
