Kia is ready to rock European markets with a performance hatchback which is meant to be the Volkswagen GTI rival. Soon-Nam Lee, Kia’s overseas marketing director told Autocar that the automaker is preparing turbocharged units and tuning suspension and they are working on a Golf GTI rival.
The hot-hatch will likely to be the next-generation Kia Cee’d which is likely powered by a 2.0L turbocharged Theta II engine producing 247-hp and a peak torque of 269 lb-ft. There is nothing official at this point, and things could change. Just stay tuned for more details.
