New report is saying that Kia will release their first electric vehicle by 2013. Details are just a few at this point, but Autoblog Spanish is saying the EV will be based on the Venga EV concept which was showcased back at the 2010 Geneva Motor Show. That means the car will come with a lithium-ion battery which send power to an electric motor that churns out 80 hp (60 kW / 82 PS). This will allow the Venga a range of nearly 140 km (87 miles) and a recharging time of around 6 hours with a standard household outlet.
You really have to just take it with a pinch of salt, there is nothing official at this point.
