New images of the upcoming 2012 Mercedes-Benz C-Class Coupe have recently emerged on the internet. We obtained a glimpse of it during the Mercedes-Benz’s Super Bowl television commercial, in which it was captured along with the SLS AMG Roadster.
The 2012 Mercedes-Benz C-Class Coupe is meant to challenge the BMW 1 and 3 Series coupes. From the images, we can see that much of the design is akin to the new C-Class sedan. It has akin front end, but a distinctive styling from the A-pillars as well as a more raked roofline because of its coupe style. While for the interior, it is also very similar to the new C-Class sedan, which might use slightly of luxury enhancements.
Engine choices will also carry over except for the AMG models. Rumors indicate that unlike the facelifted C 63 AMG sedan and estate, which are powered by a 6.3-liter V8 engine producing 451 hp (336 kW / 457 PS), the coupe will be powered by a naturally-aspirated version of the twin-turbo 5.5-liter V8 engine which can be found on the S63 AMG and CLS 63 AMG.
There is no clue on how much it will cost when compared to the rival BMW 1 and M3 models; lets hope to get the answer soon, when it debuts in Geneva next month.
