Suzuki has unveiled not one but two Kizashi-based concept models at the 2011 New York auto show (NYIAS) yesterday.
The first model is the Kizashi EcoCharge Concept. the EcoCharge is a hybrid system sedan that is powered by a 2.0 litre inline-four gasoline unit, working in tandem with a 15 kW electric motor (powered by a 115-volt air-cooled lithium-ion battery).
To further improve efficiency numbers, Suzuki has also used many other fuel-saving technologies including regenerative braking, an engine stop-start technology, fuel cut-off during deceleration as well as low-rolling resistance tyres. This EcoCharge Concept is claimed to have a 25 percent betterment in highway fuel economy than the standard Kizashi.
Design wise, Suzuki has made some styling changes to the Kizashi EcoCharge to make it stand apart from its standard model. Those styling changes includes a unique luminescent white-satin exterior finish with a subtle blue undercoat, restyled headlamps, LED fog lights as wel as bespoke aluminum alloy wheels.
