Citroen has recently revealed that it will recall more than 20,000 units of C3 Picasso sold in the UK due to unusual yet very funny reason. The brakes of the model can be easily operated accidentally by the passenger sitting in the front when pressing their feet in the footwell.

The reason for this issue is a manufacturing flaw during the conversion from the original left-hand drive layout to the right-hand drive of C3 Picasso for the UK market. although the brake pedal has been shifted to the right but is it remains connected by a linkage to the master cylinder, which is still in its original position on the left passenger side. So if the passenger pushes their feet on the floor in exactly the right, the brakes will be activated due to a thin piece of felt between the passenger's feet and the master cylinder. This problem was found by Watchdog, a BBC TV consumer show that was alerted about this problem from a British cleaning company that has several C3 Picassos.

Mark Brown motor engineer expert said :

"It's potentially very dangerous indeed because the passenger wouldn't know he's the one activating the brake. The driver wouldn't know what's going on, and the people behind wouldn't know what's going on,”

Citroen will recall the affected C3 Picasso for fixing the problem.
