Latest report is saying that Buick is working on a rebadged model of the Opel Ampera. Details are just a few at this point, but we can expect the car to feature refined styling along with Buick's waterfall grille. Inside the cabin, the interior would probably get leather upholstery, wood trim, as well as metallic accents.
And just like the standard Opel Ampera, powered by a 1.4-liter petrol engine and an electric motor developing 149 hp (111 kW / 151 PS) and 273 lb-ft (368 Nm) of torque. The electric motor gets the power from a 16-kWh lithium-ion battery. Performance wise, the car can accelerate from 0-60 mph in under 9 seconds, with a top speed of 100 mph (161 km/h). When travel on electricity mode it can reach up to 50 miles (80 km). And when the battery is depleted a 1.4-liter petrol unit will extend its range up to 99 km.
If the report is true, the Buick Ampera might be launched in 2013.
