In addition to the MG5, MG (SAIC) has also presented its new MG3 small hatchback at the 2011 Shanghai Auto Show. The new MG3 is likely the production model of the Zero concept car. It was develop under the supervision with MG’s design studio in the UK.
The new MG3 will be offered with a range of engine options, including a 1.5-liter gasoline unit developing 109bhp and 99lb ft, allowing it to reach up to 113mph. While the rest is yet to be announced, but they are likely to be a 1.3-litre petrol, a diesel unit as well as 1.5 turbocharged.
The new MG3 is set to be launched in UK before 2012 or early of next year. Expect more details for its specs to come closer to its arrival, so please stay tuned.
