It's been a long while since Subaru introduced a RWD Coupe Concept. In case you have not know yet, RWD Coupe is the Subaru’s version of the Toyota FT-86 RWD Coupe. Both models resulted from a joint venture between both Subaru and Toyota, where each one gets to modify its own exterior design, but the basic platform and powertrain are remain the same.
Subaru's RWD Coupe Concept will make its debut at the Geneva Motor Show. There might be also an all-wheel drive version too, but it proves too costly, and Subaru plans to make the RWD Coupe for now.
Just like the Toyota FT-86 RWD Coupe, the incoming Subaru RWD Coupe will be equipped with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder boxer engine for generating 175 HP that is pretty similar like in the Impreza model. The RWD Coupe is estimated to be about 2,700 pounds of weight, which could reach 60 mph from 0 in just around 6 seconds or better.
The Subaru RWD Coupe is reportedly to be priced at around $25,000 for the standard version, while the turbo version costs around $30,000. Subaru's RWD Coupe will be offered in North America, Japan as well as Europe markets.
That's all information we can dig up at this point. Stay tuned as more details will be emerging when it makes its debut in March.
