Volkswagen is going to release the facelifted Volkswagen Tiguan SUV which comes with a Tuareg-like front end, more fuel-efficient engines, Fatigue Detection system, Lane Assist lane-keeping system, camera-based high beam control system and Light Assist system (H7 lights). The facelifted Volkswagen Tiguan will be hitting dealerships in Germany starting in June, while other European markets at the beginning of August and overseas markets in late of August. Pricing for European markets will begin from €24.175.
The SUV will be offered in both Track & Style and Sport & Style models dedicated to on-road use as well as off road. For the European markets, the 2012 Vw Tiguan will be four TSI gasoline engines (ranging from 1.4 to 2.0 liters) churn out between 122hp and 210hp and three TDI diesel engines produce between 110hp to 170hp. While buyers in the stateside can expect to get 200hp 2.0TSI engine. These engines can be linked to optional seven-speed dual-clutch transmission (DSG).
The automaker has also launched a number of images of the Tiguan with 2.0-liter TDI BlueMotion technology, which achieves an impressive 5.3 liters/100 km of average fuel consumption (front-wheel model).
