Chrysler has today revealed that the company plans to release a new entry-level 1500 pickup truck which comes with a standard HEMI V8 engine. At this point, the 1500 Series truck is under the codename of “Adventurer”, and has not been named by the automaker. The official name will be given when it become available on sale in mid 2011.
Fred Diaz Ram Truck President and CEO said :
“We know we have the formula right, Now we just need a great name that promotes pride of ownership. This new Ram model will be an attractive alternative for a younger or first-time buyer looking for performance at an affordable price. Case in point, it will have more horsepower and a lower base price than our competitors’ entry-level performance cars with the added benefit of versatility and capability.”
The new Ram 1500 pickup truck will be equipped with a 5.7-liter HEMI V8 engine crunching out 390 horsepower plus 407 lb-ft of torque. On the exterior, it comes with standard goodies like fog lamps, cargo lamp, 6-inch x 9-inch side-view mirrors, 3.55 rear axle ratio, a set of 20-inch aluminum wheels, a locking tailgate, a 160-amp alternator, four and seven-pin trailer wiring harness, front stabilizer bar and rear stabilizer bar, 700-amp maintenance-free battery, and rear-bumper step pad.
While in the cabin, the truck offers a heavy-duty vinyl 40/20/40 split-bench seat, AC, standard safety equipment,six-speaker with media player, automatic headlamps and many other optional goodies like Mopar chrom tubular side steps or a Siriues Satellite Radio.
The new Ram 1500 pickup truck will become available on sale in the second quarter of 2011 with two choices, 4×2 or 4×4 drivetrain. The Ram 1500 pickup truck will be priced from $23,830.
