As a part of its North America expansion, Volkswagen probably release the VW Scirocco and Phaeton sedan in the U.S. markets. Recent post on Bloomberg News said that Volkswagen will be reconsidering to bring the Phaeton back to the U.S. market.
VW has stopped the import of Scirocco in the late 80′s, while the Phaeton wasn’t too successful in the stateside, which has been stopped in 2006. Currently, the VW Scirocco is available in Europe with a handful of engine configurations ranging from 140-hp diesel engine to a 2.0-liter turbo engine generating 265 HP for the “R” model. The 140-hp engine is claimed to offer 52.3 mpg.
