Volvo is reportedly to cut off the number of models it offers in the stateside to focus on its best-selling vehicles in a bid to improve its sales after six straight years of declining sales.
Doug Speck, head of Volvo's operations in the U.S said :
Five or six is probably a good number. We have to focus on the key segments with significant volume potential.”
According to Doug Speck, the first model that will be stopped first is the V50 wagon. 5 Others will follow, still not until Volvo's dealer network is announced of their funeral proceedings. We are predicting the C30, C70 and XC70 will be the next to be stopped.
The idea is to focus on its best-selling vehicles the new S60 sedan and the XC60 and XC90 crossovers. But Volvo is still reviewing which other models will be killed from the U.S. markets.
