VW just unveiled a batch of images and some details regarding the upcoming 2012 Golf Cabriolet model which will be showcased in the 2011 Geneva Auto Show, this March. VW Golf Cabriolet offers design improvements over the standard Golf model such as a restyled rear end, refined front windshield, and a lower profile roof line.
Aside from that, the upcoming Golf Cabriolet will also equipped with LED rear taillights just like the Golf GTI model and a number of safety features like the automatically deploying roll-over bar, a knee airbag for the driver as well as side head/thorax airbags. The recently developed soft-top roof could be either opened or closed at speeds up to 18.7 mph.
Volkswagen will be offering a series of engine choices for the upcoming Golf Cabrio with total power output ranging from 105 bhp (77 kW / 105 PS) up to 207 bhp (155 kW / 210 PS). Most engine will be equipped with DSG double-clutch gearbox, while the 1.6 liter TDI (105 bhp) engine will also be coupled with BlueMotion technology for offering the best fuel-economy figures about 4.4 liters/100 km (64 mpg imp) and CO2 emissions of only 117 g/km.
Volkswagen Golf Cabriolet will be priced at €23,625 in Germany.
